Deadly salmon virus (ISA) confirmed at Cooke's net-pen farm site in Newfoundland

ISA has been confirmed by Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture to be present in one Cooke cage at Northwest Cove open-net pen salmon farm in Nfld. The statement regarding the confirmation of a federally reportable disease for a licensed aquaculture site has been issued by Cold Ocean Salmon Inc., a Cooke-subsidiary, who operates this farm site. The net-pen was stocked with 47,000 market size salmon which were being harvested at the time the ISA was detected.
